For the Holtmann business the new millennium started with the solution of tasks that surpassed past projects in size and complexity. The world exhibition Expo 2000 was held in Hanover. At this large scale event Holtmann took on several challenges and participated in a leading position in two of the biggest single assignments awarded by the Expo. On one hand it comprised the production of the entire theme park – the core of the Expo – which filled five complete exhibition halls with its 11 productions and on the other hand it included the execution of various multi-service complexes with an area of 40.000 m².

At the same time the T-Digit, communication building of the German Telekom, was built - a 16 x 16 x 16 m wide cube with 241 m² screen at an exposed place with high-end architectural quality and a high engineering performance standard. In total the whole Expo project preparations took three years. Already at the beginning of the new era Holtmann has proven its full range of capabilities. On the foundations of its tradition the company is well-equipped for the tasks of the 21st century.
