The Bundesdruckerei is a leading company worldwide in the field of developing and supplying complete systems for secure identification.
At CeBIT, with the slogan ‘Trust.Security.Lifestyle.’ the Bundesdruckerei exhibited highly innovative technologies and methods for ensuring secure identification in application areas relating to daily life and the digital world.
Orientation was provided by the clearly structured architecture of the stand, which appealed to visitors via fine materials and sophisticated design details.
The central design element was a diagonal passageway, with a dynamic appearance due to the narrowing effect of perspective. It structured and organised the stand and incorporated the two-storey structure into the stand dynamics, giving the impression of enormous depth.
This black reflecting passageway, referred to as the ‘trust stream’, served as a connecting element between the symbolised areas of application, and conveyed the principles of digital encryption in a striking manner, with a combination of spatial atmosphere and media effects.
‘Secure spaces’ from the real world were stationed along this central axis. These application areas, characterised by white surfaces, were marked by suspended ‘theme caps’. They functioned as bearers of atmospheric communications, presenting a 360° panorama of the respective world on the four interior walls.
The ‘theme caps’ were rectangular structures made of plastic honeycomb plates, covered on both sides with printed webbing which allowed the honeycomb effect to shine through.
Infrastructure including facilities for discussions, entertainment, stand management and personnel were located at the rear of the stand. The central passageway led through these structures, which intensified its directional effect.
Construction of the individual structures was associated with extremely demanding creative, technical and design requirements, and was a constant challenge for the architects and engineers of our partner SKAI, as well as for the production personnel and the team building the stand.
Bernd Breitschuh, Project Manager of the Holtmann team, explains that there was a good working atmosphere in every phase of the project, with all of the companies involved working toward a common goal and solving problems together. He recalls the enthusiasm of the customer and the customer’s creative personnel at seeing their visions realised with no compromises.
The communication effectiveness and quality of the presentation were suitably honoured by the granting of an iF communication design award 2008 and 2009 in the category Corporate architecture/Tradeshow appearances.
